Creating Destiny

sea-sunset-beach-coupleHi everyone, welcome back!

Picking up where we left off last week, I wanted to talk more about positive self talk and visualization. As I touched on in my last post, these topics are making their way more and more to the forefront. There’s a ton of reading/programs available that supposedly provide the “secret recipe” to harnessing this energy.

All of these program claim to have the key to making the law of attraction work in your favor. This is normally accompanied by a fair amount of skepticism. It seems too good to be true. You can’t just imagine what you want and have it appear. Mansion, limos, and riches. Just think about it and it’s yours.

Of course there’s more to it then just thinking about it, but how can you make it work for you? I’ve come across a new program that goes into a little more detail about getting the most out of the law of attraction. Here’s the link. It talks a lot about not just thinking about what you want, but actually putting a good amount of energy into your thoughts.

One quote that I found interesting was that “energy doesn’t come from emotion, emotion comes from energy.” I’m really interested in hearing everyone’s thoughts/experience on this.

Essentially it’s saying, in my opinion, that you can’t just think about buying the mansion, or riding in the limo, or having all money you can handle. You have to feel the joy of living in the mansion, mentally experience riding in the limo, feel the comfort of wealth.

You have mentally experience these things will actual energy and emotion. As if you’re currently living it out in reality.

As always, I’d love to get your ideas on this. Feel free to contact me with your input.

Finding My Place

city-new-york-skyscrapers-topAs you can probably tell by my intro, reaching my full potential has always been a point of emphasis for me.  From sports, to school and into my professional life, I’ve always strived to make the most with the tools that I’ve been given.

This interest has only magnified since I decided that I wasn’t cut out for working for someone else’s company. See, I’ve always admired people willing to take on the risk and responsibility associated with running their own business. It also seemed like the only way to have true ownership over your life.

Recently I was inspired by a couple of friends of mine. Both had been working steadily for big companies since graduating college. They were making decent money (albeit in different industries) and had a job that was relatively secure. Both were pretty happy, but ultimately not satisfied with that path. When you work for someone else, you have to answer to them. Your livelihood depends on it. That fact left them feeling like their current path wasn’t good enough.

So they quit.

One started day trading after taking a couple courses. And the other started his own painting business. I was impressed.

It inspired me to find my place. To build something myself. Maybe that’s part of the reason for this blog. So that I can work through ideas that I have and, in the end, find the path to owning my own business.

So, where to start? I spoke with both of my friends and they said that the biggest thing they had to overcome was the doubt in their own mind. Maybe it was fear, maybe it was a lack of faith in themselves. But they both said that before they decided to make the leap, they had to confront it.

Positive thinking is all the rage. There’s a lot of books and programs similar to “The Secret” and “Think and Grow Rich” that talk about the benefits of positive self talk. So that’s where I decided to start. After looking at a few, I’m working on one that I mentioned in the opening post. The link to it is here. Let me know what you think. Are there any others that anyone can recommend?

As always, feel free to contact me with any thoughts, comments or suggestions.

Thanks and check back soon for another post/update!

I’m going to use this site to share and discuss ideas that I have as well as products or programs that I find interesting or valuable (I’m currently looking at a program on mastering your own subconscious – more on that later). I think dialogue and sharing are important. So if there’s anything you’d like to discuss, feel free to reach out to me.
